I'm thrilled to announce that I've been issued my UK Residence Permit!! I am still permitted to work in the UK and now I am on route to settlement. Woo hoo!
This month my trio had a great string of workshops with Live Music Now in East Yorkshire, and we are developing a very exciting new activity we like to call 'The Style Bonanza' to debut in schools in March. Also in March, I'm starting regular work for Artforms - Education Leeds each Saturday morning at Boston Spa Music Centre. Really looking forward to leading a youngster's percussion ensemble and a family djembe class. The Allsorts are playing at Sela Bar on Monday 11 March, and are back in Bradford on 21 March at the Priestley Bar in the basement of The New Bradford Playhouse for an evening of music and cheesecake you don't want to miss. We had lots of fun this month in at the Darlington Jazz Club and can't wait to play there again. You can see us this Sunday 24th Feb at Splinter @ The Bridge Hotel in Newcastle. Keep an eye out for some revamped promo material in the near future - and as always, please get in touch if you feel so inclined! I've managed to stay warm this past month with an exciting new purchase of a heater for the practise room - a worthwhile investment! In other news, my main project at the moment, The Allsorts have played some splendid gigs with a few more in the diary worth noting:
As the days start to grow longer (horray!) I'm looking forward to the next few months. A couple potential exciting new jobs and hopefully some other good news will set up 2013 on the positive side. As ever, please get in touch if you are interested in having me join a project of yours, or you would like some drum tuition, or if you have any questions/comments for me!
-K Welcome to a much needed update of my website! I now have this handy blog to replace my old news page (but you can still read the old news below if you like). It's been a great couple of months. My main band, The Allsorts are excited for some upcoming gigs, and I recently made this showreel below to give people a better idea of the band. I've you've got a spare 3 minutes, I would love you to check it out. Grab the popcorn! In other news, I've been busy doing various function gigs, and workshops with Doncaster Community Arts. I had a great time delivering a drumming workshop at Leeds College of Music. I'm looking forward to some work coming up with Live Music Now and now have a profile page for MJP Music Tuition in Leeds. I had a lovely trio gig with Jamil Sheriff and Sam Vicary at one of Leeds' favorite venues, Cafe Lento. Now it's time for a bit of Christmas hibernation (composing) and cooking for the rest of the month, along with the odd gig. Seasons greetings!
