The Steely Dan Big Band plays the music of Steely Dan, arranged for instrumental 18-piece big band. The repertoire includes some exciting arrangements by American arranger, Fred Sturm, which features LCM alumnus, guitarist Aubin Vanns. The band breaks down the boundaries of conventional big band writing and takes inspiration from rock and pop idioms without sacrificing the foundation of jazz. The lineup includes Fender Rhodes, Marimba, Vibraphone and an electric rhythm section.
